English language challenges

Hello!
This is the final post and I have to write about mi experience in the program of English of my university.
In general I enjoyed the experience because I think that it’s made for people like me. Before the course I understood a little of English but I didn’t have the grammatical abilities for the language, for that, the course was very useful for me and I really think that I improved my level of English.
About the blogs, I have to say that was not my favorite thing to do. I am not a fan of the social medias and I really don’t like that the university force me to write about me and my opinions on a platform of internet.  I would prefer write stories on my home and keep my private information just for myself. But, I recognize that is good write in English for improve that issue.
I think that I still have to improve my level on English in the four abilities: listening, talking, writing and reading. However, at the moment I think that I am better listening and reading over talking and writing. My plan is continue practicing my English reading books in English, taking courses online, and, as far as possible, go to USA or U.K and improve there.
Outside of the English class I use English these day mainly when I read papers in English about my thesis topic and when I see movies or series, I prefer see the movies in the original language.

I really hope to keep improving and English can be my second language J

Changes to my study programme

I really love my career and right now I can't imagine another profession that could be so good for me, but even in the great careers and in the best universities it's possible make changes to improve the formation of future proffesionals.
The first thing that I would change, if I could, is the duration of the career. In Chile it's very usual that social science careers have a duration of five years but, in my opinion, is too many time for a discipline like sociology, in fact, in other countries the extension of the plans of proffesional formation are between 3 and 4 years. Some people think that the higher duration of the careers in Chile are due to caught economics advantages for the universities
Other thing that I definitely would change in this university specifically is the infraestructure. Here the buildings are old and impaired, many times the students, and even the teacher, are constrained in the classroms and exist just a few of recreational areas. In this order of things, the tecnology is other factor that is posible to improve in this faculty in particular.
The burocracy in the career is other thing that I would like to change because many times you can lose a lot of time just in paperwork or formalities. Also, not exist in the faculty an strict orden and for that is not strange that the notes is not uploaded when it has to.
So, that are the main things that I would like to change in my career and my faculty, but, even with all this, I still love my career :)

All my life I was enjoy winter holidays because I love the rain, the wind, the snow and every aspect of winter
In general I have no money for do stuff in winter holidays, so I stay in home in that ocations.
But, for this winter holidays I have plans even with no money. I would like to visit the "Cajon del Maipo" with my motorcycle, to do trecking in their mountains, go to the "Embalse el Yeso" and many other places there. Also I would like to do the tipical activities that you do in vacations, like go to the cinema, visit museums and thing like that. I would like to be with my mostly boyfriend and with my friends too.
Another thing that I love to do in winter holidays is eat and drink the tipical food and drinks of winter, like eat "sopaipillas", drink a lot of tea and soups and eat "Cazuela" and "calzones rotos".
In the future if I have the money I would like to travel a lot, specially go to the south of Chile and countries from the zone because I don't want to get lost the winter experience. Also I would like to do ski and many activities in the snow, sadly today is more difficult to do this thing because go to the snow is more expensive that do another activities.
So, that is all for now. I hope you can enjoy this winter holidays :)

Pets and animals

Hello everybody!
As the title of my blog said I consider myself an animal lovers. I really like the animals in many forms and sizes and I think that they are very pure beings and that there is no evil in them. Until today I have six pets: two dogs and four cats and I love them very much! One of my dogs is Ursus, he is an adult dog and his race is "Pastor Yugoslavo", like this:

My other dog is named "Gorda", she is a puppy, she has only 8 months! althought she looks like an adult dog and people get scared when they see. She is a mix between a Rottweiler and a Neapolitan shepherd and looks like this but is most black:

About my cats, 3 of them are females and the other is a male. I can't talk much about them because I take a long time, but I cant tell you that the male cat is named "Chucho" and is my favorite, he is 13 years old and is very affectionate, cute and kind, I really love him!
I think it's inappropiate that wild animals are hunted to keep them in cages in zoos, but I also know that zoos often rescued animals that may be in danger in the outside world. In my opinion should always favored the wild environment of the animals but in some specific cases they may be in zoos when they are unable to survive in the outside world.
I have been bitten by dogs many times but almost always in context of play. My dogs usually bite my a little to play with them, only in one ocation one of my dogs bite my hard but was an accident.
If a could be an animal my first option it's be a dragon but like they are not real I suposse that I like to be a bird, maybe a swallow, only because I think that the hability of fly it`s really great.

Postgraduate Studies

Hello everybody!
Today I want to tell you about a course that I would like to do in the future, specifically, a postgraduate course.
All my university life I have been interested to do courses that could be complementary for my career, for that, until now I have made two courses about sociology of religion, an area that I like it.
I will like to do a course in the future because I love learn new things and complement the knowledge of my career, also, I like the possibility of implement the learning on a practical way, helping people with my new knowledge.
The course that I would like to do after I graduate it's a MBA, in particular something about sociology of health or sociology of religion. The reasons are mainly academic, because I already know about this subjects and I would like acquire a most specific knowledge about them.
The subjects in general of these courses could be, for example, anthropology of religion and contemporary religions in the case of a MBA of sociology of religion, and I would like take these courses if there exist.
I would like study this postgraduate studies abroad, maybe on England or France. I am not a fan of Europe but I think that it the best place for study this specific area. Also, I would like the do the course full time, for live all the experience of study on another country.

The movies of my life

I consider myself like a consumer of movies. Since my childhood watching movies is one of my favorite things to do, for that, in this moment of my life I try to go to the cinema at least one time to the month. My favorites movies are of every kind because I don’t like a genre of movie over another, I like movies of action, drama, fantasy, thriller and other tipes. One of my favorite film directors is Satoshi Kon, he was a japanese director of anime movies with a touch of thriller or fantasy, he was really awesome but died in 2010 with only 47 years old.

My all-time favorite film it is “Paprika”, a movie by Satoshi Kon. In this film the main character it’s a psychiatrist named Atsuko with an alter-ego named Paprika, her alter-ego help some people with problems on their dreams and is the opposite that Atsuko, for one hand, Atsuko is cold and very serious, but, for the other hand, Paprika is warm and adventurer. The story begins when somebody steal a machine that can turn dreams into reality and Atsuko and Paprika need to find the thief and stop him before the city go crazy. I don’t know who stars the film because it’s an anime movie and the people who give their voices are not seen on the screen. I really like the movie because I love the oniric world and I think that the movie addresed the issue very well. I have seen the movie at least four times and would often more! I would definitely recommend the movie because it’s a wonderful piece of art, specially for them who likes the mistery and the fantasy.
One film I would like to see again is “Interstellar”, a movie by Christopher Nolan about the travel of a group of astronauts in the space that look for a new planet for the human race. I would like to see again this movie because it’s very good and has many details that it’s necessary see many times for catch all of them.

My life with books

Reading has been part of my life since I was a little child. When I was very young I enjoyed reading to Papelucho and other similar books. After, when I got older, I discovered Harry Potter and I started to read about a more extense literature. Today I still maintain the habit of reading, is one of my favorite things to do but with the beginning of my college life I have less time to read for pleasure, however, I consider myself a book worm because always when I have time I go to the library to discover new books and writers.
I enjoy very much the fiction literature, is always fun and make you think about many things. But I admit that I usually buy books of non-fiction because I love the possibility of learning that those books provide.
Today mi favorite writer is Amelie Nothomb. She is a young belgian writer that has a lot imagination and she usually writes about fiction and personal experiencies but always with an interesting and curious focus.
One book that I read recently is "Acide Sulfurique" of this writer. Is a really entertaining book that make you think about the modern society. I enjoyment this book very much and I read it in one afternoon because is not very long and it´s really easy to read. The story is about a new reality show with thematic of concentration camp, the people in their homes can vote for a participant who want to die every week. The media and the general opinion are scandalized about the show but the rating is the higher in the history of tv. I recomend this book to every person who want to read an interesting book and who likes the critic of comtemporary society.
We see in the next post!
