My life with books

Reading has been part of my life since I was a little child. When I was very young I enjoyed reading to Papelucho and other similar books. After, when I got older, I discovered Harry Potter and I started to read about a more extense literature. Today I still maintain the habit of reading, is one of my favorite things to do but with the beginning of my college life I have less time to read for pleasure, however, I consider myself a book worm because always when I have time I go to the library to discover new books and writers.
I enjoy very much the fiction literature, is always fun and make you think about many things. But I admit that I usually buy books of non-fiction because I love the possibility of learning that those books provide.
Today mi favorite writer is Amelie Nothomb. She is a young belgian writer that has a lot imagination and she usually writes about fiction and personal experiencies but always with an interesting and curious focus.
One book that I read recently is "Acide Sulfurique" of this writer. Is a really entertaining book that make you think about the modern society. I enjoyment this book very much and I read it in one afternoon because is not very long and it´s really easy to read. The story is about a new reality show with thematic of concentration camp, the people in their homes can vote for a participant who want to die every week. The media and the general opinion are scandalized about the show but the rating is the higher in the history of tv. I recomend this book to every person who want to read an interesting book and who likes the critic of comtemporary society.
We see in the next post!

Iron Maiden: The voice of an era

The concerts are an expression of the deep relationship between a group and their fans. In the shows arrives the passion and emotion of the people that only wish feel close the group that went to see.

The last concert I went was Iron Maiden at the Estadio Nacional of Santiago the last March 11. I went with my boyfriend who is a huge fan of the band, that was his four concert of Iron Maiden but was my first of the group. We arrived at the stadium at 4 pm, there was replete of fans of Maiden, really excited by the energy of the place, everybody were singing, jumping and screaming, even was there a boy with a battery that played Maiden songs! We waited like two hours until the stadium opened the doors, the people were running to the stage and expect to the first group, led by the lider's son of Iron Maiden, Steve Harris.

As it is well known, Iron Maiden is an english band of heavy-metal that was born in the seventies, led by, actually, Steve Harris. In the next years the group was gaining fame and their members were consolidated: the vocalist Bruce Dickinson; the guitarist, Dave Murray; the other guitarist, Adrian Smith; the final guitarist, Janick Gears; the drummer, Nico McBrain and the bassist, obviously, Steve Harris. They have visited Chile in five ocations and even they made a disk at the Estadio Nacional!

Returning to the concert, after the band of Steve Harris son arrive Anthrax, another famous band of heavy metal that was applauded by many fans. Finally started the show of Iron Maiden and the people went crazy, everyone was screaming, jumping and singing their songs, and, of course, the public were making the sign of rock with their hands.

In conclusion was an excellent experience and really expect that Iron Maiden will return soon!

Iceland, the magic island

When I think in Iceland I imagine elfs and fairies, all the magic of the past stories, however today this island is un example of development in technology and human rights.
How is possible this contrast in that country? That`s why Iceland have specific qualities that allow this paradoxical situation, for one hand, Iceland had a rich geography that favor the development of many species of plants, animals and others natural elements, we can visit lakes and rivers, we can climb mountains and find cuevas, even we can get lose in a forest! But, if exist one thing that make Iceland a wonderful and beautiful place is the known northern lights, a natural phenomenon that paint the sky of the night with extraordinary colors in some months of the year. All this beauty has created the old and magical stories that around Iceland.

For the other hand, this country has a really small population, with only 330.000 people. That added to the fact that Iceland is an island allow a closed communitty that does not need many resources for survive and for get along with each other, all of this in addition to a good administration made possible the country that today it is.
I assume that all this reasons make me want to travel there, know its landscapes and to experience its magic. Maybe someday I
could visit Iceland but not like a traditional travel but an adventure
